A blend of 66 % Mourvédre and 33% Carignan, this wine is inspired by Bandol Rosé. The ancient vines along side the sandy soils and cool weather of the San Francisco Bay is an excellent area for rosé production in the Bandol style. Featuring a zippy citrus zest, flavors of ripe stone fruits like nectarines and peaches, and striking minerality. This wine has balance, texture, and a bold character and is without a doubt one of the best rosés we've produced.
These ancient vines were planted by Portuguese immigrants in 1888, this Heritage Vineyard has been farmed by the Gonsalves family since 1904 spanning 5 generations. The gnarled head trained vines are planted in deep sand aside The San Francisco shoreline.
