Our first emphasis in winemaking is to produce wines that show the flavor of the land, what the French call, Terroir. Secondly, we choose to make wines that show typicity, wines that are varietally correct in character (i.e. how much a Pinot Noir tastes like a Pinot Noir). The combination of these two philosophies are the backbone of Beauregard Wines.
At Beauregard Vineyards our focus is in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel all grown on our Estate Vineyards in Bonny Doon, California. We are also known for our striking Pinot Gris and Syrah.
The skin contact Pinot Gris Beauregard produces is one of our favorite wines. This is without a doubt something incredibly unique on the market made by leaving the skins on the Pinot Gris grapes and making it similar to a red wine would be made, the finished wine has salmon pink/orange light color and the palate is refreshing like provence rosé would be with a touch more fruit.
This wine very drinkable and refreshing now yet will continue to develop in a positive direction for another 2-3 years, the wines peak should be about 2018-2020.
Pinot Gris is light, fruity, refreshing and the perfect anytime wine
The very first vintage of our Sparkling Apple Wine
The aromas are fresh and intense with notes of creamed white peach puree, wild strawberry, and orange blossoms.
The nose has aromas of asian pear, white flowers, honey, lemons blossoms, crushed stones, hazelnut and stirred lees, The palate is medium bodied, medium plus in acidity with similar flavors to the nose along with bright citrus notes, crushed white stones, and a touch of an oyster shell note on the finish.
The nose is well balanced, fruit forward and highly perfumed with the classic coastal California Pinot Noir aromatics we all adore. The palate is nearly full bodied with flavors which mirror the nose with rich fruit flavors of dehydrated strawberry, ripe black cherry, wet leaves, vanilla bean and oak spices.
The aromas on the nose show delicate notes of white flowers, yellow apples, unripe asian pear, yellow melon peel, lemon curd and crushed stones. The palate is medium in body with fresh flavors of lemon peel, kaffir lime, green apple, lees with a slight hint of oak spice in the background.
The nose displays notes of black cherry, blackberry and black plum with accents of leather, fresh tobacco leaf, violets, chai spices, coconut and turned earth. The palate is medium plus in body with a kiss of perceived sweetness to the fruit.
The nose is gently perfumed with notes of white flowers, honeysuckle, yellow apple, meyer lemon, stirred lees, raw hazelnut, a touch of oyster shells and wet white rocks. The palate is medium-plus in body, with a touch of oiliness, with a refreshing acidity which frames the wine perfectly.
The aromas are ripe yet have an old world flare akin to a modern classified red wine from Bordeaux. The nose displays notes of ripe black currants, black plum, cassis, leather, red tobacco, cedar, wet rocks, toasted oak and delicate oak spices. The palate is full bodied and multi-layered with a beautiful harmony between ripe fruit, oak, and earth flavors which reflect the nose.
