In the glass: Bright and vibrant and orange in color. Perfect clarity. Almost Neon in appearance. The nose is has aromas of citrus peel, jasmine, rose, fresh cut grass. Black tea and honey.
In the mouth: Tannin backed by racy acidity. Minerals. Peach flesh. Orange. Coconut. Marzipan. Clean. Precise. Balanced.
The finish: Yeast (lees). Tannin. Very lengthy. Vanilla. Honeysuckle. Aromatic in the finish leaving the earthy and woody flavors on the palate long after each sip. Lingering citrus peel.
Regan Vineyard, is located in the Corralitos area of the Santa Cruz Mountains on a south facing slope. The vineyard is owned and farmed by John Bargetto. Planed in 1992, the 50 acre estate sits at an elevation of 450 to 550 feet. Monterey Bay influences combine with clay loam soils to produce wines with minerality and striking acidity. Plantings:2.5 acres Pinot Gris on 3309 rootstock.
