Santa Cruz Mountains
September 8th, 2015
Zayante Vineyard is farmed organically, own rooted, and dry farmed. The rare combination consistently delivers some of the finest grapes in the region. It has a dark ruby core with purple highlights. The aromas smell like black cherries, wild raspberries, white pepper and damp flowers accented with notes of vintage leather, cured meat and crushed stones. The palate is full bodied with spicy flavors red and black berries, black pepper, sandalwood and crushed stones.
Located in the Upper Zayante area of the Santa Cruz Mountains and planted in 1988 on a southwest facing slope at 1,100 to 1,300 feet. The vineyard is own-rooted, dry farmed, and certified organic. Sandstone and loamy soils with plantings of Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Grenache.
