Beauregard Ranch, Bonny Doon

Beauregard Ranch Vineyard – Bonny Doon California: 
This is the original vineyard for the Beauregard family.  The property was purchased by Amos Beauregard in the early 1940’s.  The property was all apples when he purchased  the 250 acres.  Apples were a common crop in the Santa Cruz Mountains once prohibition set in.  Amos replanted the vineyard back to grape vines, and began growing some of the best fruit in the state.  All of the fruit at this time went to Napa.

The vineyard has been farmed with wine grapes ever since the initial replant.  Now, the Beauregards have just finished their 3rd replant and are on the 4th generation farming this same site. 

The vineyard is now planted with Pinot Noir (Clone 667, Pommard, and Mt. Eden Clone), Chardonnay (Robert Young Clone 17), Zinfandel (Primitivo Clone), and Cabernet Sauvignon (Emmett Beauregard Clone).   

On a full crop year, this vineyard will be producing a small total of 2,300 cases by 2008 from all 4 varietals.
