Tasting Notes
Regan Pinot Gris has a light straw yellow core with copper hues throughout. The aromas are incredibly fresh and vibrant showing flavors of slightly green melon peel, yellow apple core, orange blossoms, salt preserved lemons and wet stones. The palate is dry with a medium body showing flavors of melon rind, yellow apple, and lemon zest with a slight hint of salinity on the finish. I highly recommend decanting this wine for a brief period, about thirty minutes, before serving into all purpose white wine stems at about 45-50 degrees. Vineyard Notes
Regan Vineyard is located in the Corrolitos area of the Santa Cruz Mountains on a south facing slope. The vineyard is owned and farmed by John Bargetto. Planted in 1992, the 50 acre estate sits at an elevation of 450 to 550 feet. Monterey Bay influences combine with clay loam soils to produce wines with minerality and striking acidity. Plantings: 2.5 acres Pinot Gris on 3309 rootstock
