Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2015 Beauregard Pinot Gris displays a pale straw yellow core displays green and copper reflections on the rim. The nose offers aromatics notes of melon peel, yellow peach pit, salt cured lemon, lees and a hint of creamy yellow apple with a touch of wet rock. Just over medium body with beautiful creaminess, the palate is lifted with perfectly balanced acidity and soft minerality over flavors that mirror the nose. This wine is best consumed slightly chilled, around 45-55 degrees depending on your preference. Simply pull from the fridge and decant 20-30 minutes before serving so the wine can breathe. Please do not serve too cold. Once the wine opens up in the glass, the textural and aromatic display will leave you hooked and the bottle will disappear quickly, so have a second chilled if having some friends over. Serve in large Burgundy stems for optimal results, although any large stem will show well. (Drink Now-2020) by Consulting Master Sommelier Ian Cauble
Vineyard Notes
Regan Vineyard is located in the Corrolitos area of the Santa Cruz Mountains on a south facing slope. The vineyard is owned and farmed by John Bargetto. Planted in 1992, the 50 acre estate sits at an elevation of 450 to 550 feet. Monterey Bay influences combine with clay loam soils to produce wines with minerality and striking acidity. Plantings: 2.5 acres Pinot Gris on 3309 rootstock
